This Week at the Statehouse – Week 13
Not a lot of legislative work happened this week. The Senate has started their committee work on Governor appointments to board and commission that require Senate confirmation. The hearings for the Board of Regents members have not yet been held. They will include reappointments of Regent Sherry Bates and Regent Nancy Dunkel, as well as confirmation of Regent JC Risewick who was appointed after last year’s legislative session adjourned. The final confirmation hearing will be for Robert Cramer who is replacing Regent Nancy Boettger.
The Senate Appropriations Committee did start their work on FY 2024 budget bills. They passed out “shell” bills that outline the different department’s bill language that is needed because of the state government reorganization bill, SF 514, which Governor Reynolds signed into law on Tuesday. However, there are no state appropriations in these budget bills.
